Banknote of 2024 Nominations

The first three nominations for the Banknote of 2024 are: Kazakhstan: 5,000-Tenge Note, Honduras: 500-Lempira Note, England: 5-Pound Note.

Weldon D. "Burt" Burson (2014)

The very epitome of a world banknote collecting legend, Weldon did what no one else was capable of doing by physically handling, conserving and bringing order to the most challenging monetary union in the world, West African States.

Then he spent decades generously sharing his research efforts and vast knowledge with fellow collectors and dealers. Finally, he disposed of his formidable collection in a series of public auctions which permitted so many to add sometimes otherwise unobtainable banknotes to their own collections. A former US Foreign Service diplomat, Burt is an incomparable researcher, author, collector, mentor and colleague.
