Banknote of 2015 Announced

New Zealand's 5 Dollar Note has been chosen by the IBNS Membership as the Banknote of 2015.  The nominations are now open for the Banknote of 2016 and the first nomination is Maldives 1,000 Rufiyaa Note.

Albert Pick Dies

It is with great sadness that we have been informed of the death of Albert Pick, 93, on 22nd November 2015.  He created the eponymous numbering system still in use today, alongside the original Standard Catalog of World Paper Money.

Dwight Musser (2012)

Dwight Musser was a pioneer working in the late 1950s and early 1960s especially with notgeld and other kinds of notes aimed at getting collectors interested.

Dwight also wrote a number of helpful books (Notgeld Newsletter, etc.). Today he lives in West Virginia and is still interested in helping collectors, offering copies of his earlier works. Before the IBNS had been established, Dwight was running the World Paper Money Club with a world-wide membership. In the early 1960s, Dwight had published books on the currencies of Germany, the Baltic States and Japanese Invasion Money, as well as a collector’s guidebook.
